Obituary to Doreen Owers

Members of our association will be sorry to hear of the sad death of our Cup Steward and long serving committee member Mrs Doreen Owers (Belsartie).  Doreen and husband Geoff had exhibited for many years and their first love was Golden Retrievers before falling for the charms of the Lhasa Apso.  They will have been known to many of you as keen caravanners, but sadly after Geoff's death Doreen was unable to exhibit the dogs.  Both Doreen and Geoff were voted onto the MLAA committee at the same time, and Doreen was determined to continue as an active committee member after Geoff's death.  Doreen also served on the Nuneaton committee and was treasurer of the local puppy-training club.  Doreen was a stalwart champion of the ordinary members of our society, always striving to ensure that they got maximum benefit from their membership.  Doreen's contribution over many years to the MLAA has been invaluable, and Doreen will be sorely missed by all.
